Roborock Q10 S5+

The Q10 S5+ is the robot to buy for carpet and pet hair in this class: the best deep-clean and tangle results in the group, plus a mop that lifts for rugs. Its obstacle avoidance is weak, so you still pick up cords first.

At a glance

What stands out

  • 96 percent embedded-sand removal on carpet in Vacuum Wars' test, tied for the highest score in its records
  • 0 percent hair wrap on the JawScrapers comb brush against a 38 percent test average
  • VibraRise 2.0 pad lifts 8 mm on carpet, so vacuum and mop runs can be combined
  • Vacuum Wars estimated about 1,240 sq ft per charge from the 5,200 mAh battery, above its 1,051 average

Flaws to know

  • Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance scored 6 of 24 on Vacuum Wars' course against a 16.6 average
  • The dock only empties the bin; pad washing and water refills are by hand
  • Vacuum Wars noted early owner reports of units failing within days or weeks

Who it's for

The Q10 S5+ is the Q-series model for homes where carpet and pet hair are the daily problem. It keeps the LiDAR mapping, the app and the RockDock Plus self-empty dock of the cheaper Q7 M5+, and adds three things that matter on carpet: a brush that did not wrap hair in testing, a mop pad that lifts out of the way, and a battery with more than half again the capacity.

Pick it if you have rugs or wall-to-wall carpet, a dog or cat that sheds, and hard floors you would like mopped in the same run. Skip it if the floor is usually strewn with cables and toys, or if you want the dock to clean the mop pad; both of those needs are covered by other picks in our best robot vacuums under $500 list.

What stands out

Carpet deep cleaning is the headline. Vacuum Wars measured 96 percent of embedded sand removed from its test carpet, which it reported as tied for the top score across the 150-plus robots it had tested, against a 75.4 percent average. Flattened pet hair came in at 96 percent against the same average, and the site ranked the robot's sealed suction fourth-highest of everything it had measured, a striking result for a 10,000 Pa rating. It is the only budget-class robot on the site's Top 20 list, and SmartRobotReviews' September 2026 budget roundup also names it the pick for carpet and pet hair.

Hair wrap is the second headline. The JawScrapers comb main brush and the anti-tangle side brush, which SmartRobotReviews describes as dual anti-tangle hardware, recorded 0 percent of test hair wound around the roller in Vacuum Wars' tangle test, against a 38 percent average and the 43 percent the Q7 M5+ managed with nominally the same brush.

The mop is the practical difference from the Q7 M5+. VibraRise 2.0 is a single pad that vibrates about 3,000 times a minute per robot-review.com, and it lifts 8 mm when the robot detects carpet, so a mixed floor can be vacuumed and mopped in one job without wetting the rugs. Vacuum Wars scored it 103 on dried stains against a 93 average and found it left 0.5 grams of water behind against a 1.01 gram average, which means fewer streaks on glossy floors than the Q7 M5+.

Navigation and battery round it out. Vacuum Wars measured 0.82 square meters per minute against a 0.70 average and estimated 1,243 square feet per charge against a 1,051 average, with 2.82 minutes of runtime per percent of battery against 2.27. Roborock rates the 5,200 mAh pack for up to 150 minutes, and the app stores up to four maps. The dock uses the same 2.7 L bag as the Q7 M5+, rated for up to seven weeks, in a housing about 8.35 by 7 by 10.2 inches.

Where it falls short

Obstacle avoidance is the clear weakness. Reactive Tech uses structured-light sensors rather than a camera, and it scored 6 out of 24 on Vacuum Wars' obstacle course against an average of 16.6. robot-review.com found it only reliably avoids objects taller than about 3 inches and cannot detect cables, small toys or pet waste. In practice it needs the same pre-run tidy as the Q7 M5+ and the C10.

The dock is empty-only. Pad washing, drying and tank refills are manual, so daily mopping means a daily rinse; SmartRobotReviews lists the missing mop wash as its main con. Owners who want that automated should look at the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra.

Vacuum Wars also flagged early owner reports of units failing within days or weeks, which is worth watching during the return window. The robot is 3.9 inches tall, so it will not follow the C10 under low furniture, and its 20 mm threshold rating is ordinary for the class.

How it compares

The Roborock Q7 M5+ shares the mapping, dock and rated suction but has no mop lift, wrapped 43 percent of test hair and scored 75 percent on carpet deep clean. It is the cheaper choice only for tidy hard-floor homes.

The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra trades the Q10 S5+'s carpet and hair strengths for a dock that washes dual spinning pads in hot water and dries them, and for a camera that avoided 19 of 24 objects on Vacuum Wars' course. Its 66 percent flattened pet hair result there is well below the Q10 S5+'s 96. It is the pick when mopping comes first.

The eufy Auto-Empty C10 undercuts everyone and fits under lower furniture, and it also did well on carpet in Vacuum Wars' tests, but it has no mop and much lower measured suction.

Verdict

For carpet and pets in this class the Q10 S5+ has the strongest independent test record we found: the deep-clean and tangle results are the best in this group, and the lifting mop makes mixed floors a one-job affair. Accept that you will pick up cords and rinse the pad yourself. The rest of the field is compared in our under-$500 list.
