Dreame L60 Ultra PE
The best all-round robot for a shedding pet right now: top-tier carpet, pet hair and tangle results, camera-based avoidance and a hot-wash dock below the flagship class. Dried-stain mopping and threshold climbing are its weak spots.

Who it's for
The L60 Ultra PE sits in the middle of Dreame's four-model L60 family, and on the measurements that matter for pet hair it beats the more expensive models above it. When Vacuum Wars reviewed it on August 28, 2026, it pulled 94 percent of embedded sand from carpet, the second-highest result in a dataset of nearly 200 robots, against a 78 percent average. It picked up 100 percent of flattened pet hair against an 82 average and wrapped none of the 7 in test hair around its brush, where the average robot wraps 26 percent. It has since slipped to ninth on the site's overall Top 20 (September 24, 2026) as newer flagships arrived, but it still heads the site's pet-hair ranking, updated September 23.
It suits homes with carpet or area rugs, a dog or cat that sheds year-round, and floors without tall thresholds. It is the best overall pick on our list of robot vacuums for pet hair.
What stands out
The brush. Dreame's HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush pairs a roller with bristles and rubber fins and a second roller of soft TPU rubber. The rollers are set at an angle so hair is steered toward one end, where suction pulls it into the duct instead of letting it wind around the core. Vacuum Wars describes the design as tapered and credits it with the zero-wrap result, and Dreame cites a TÜV SÜD detangling certification. Dreame also says the robot now detours around fringed rug edges to keep tassels out of the brush.
Obstacle avoidance. An AI camera with 3D structured light and an LED for dark rooms recognizes 220 object types, according to Dreame, and Vacuum Wars counted 21 of 24 objects avoided against a 16 average. Do not confuse it with the L60 Ultra FE: in the same review the FE, which uses a TriCut brush and a simpler laser sensor, managed 51 percent pet hair, 7 percent wrap and 2 of 24 obstacles.
The dock. The base station empties the onboard bin into a 3.2 L bag that Dreame rates for up to 100 days, washes the pads in 212°F water, dries them with hot air, refills the robot from a 4.5 L clean tank and adds detergent from a single-compartment dispenser. The washboard cleans itself, which keeps odor down in the tray where hair and dirty water collect. Dreame's product page also lists pet-oriented app features, including zones around bowls, beds and litter areas that get more suction and extra passes.
Coverage. Vacuum Wars measured navigation at 0.74 sq m per minute against a 0.71 average and estimated about 1,202 sq ft per charge against 1,170, from a 5,200 mAh battery.
Where it falls short
Mopping. The pads spin at 165 rpm with 13 N of pressure and lift 10.5 mm over carpet. Vacuum Wars scored the dried-stain test at 85 against a 108 average, with water output of 0.30 g against 1.07 g. It keeps floors from streaking but will not soften old spills.
Thresholds. Dreame rates it for 22 mm single steps and 40 mm two-step ones. Vacuum Wars saw it clear 19 mm and fail 25 mm. The L60 Pro Ultra and the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete climb higher.
Bin and dock. The 250 mL onboard bin is small, which matters with a heavy shedder because the robot can fill up mid-run. Just a Dad Approved, a pet-focused reviewer, reported that the dock's suction struggled to fully empty heavy loads of hair and that the bin clogged once. Vacuum Wars also measured bench suction (0.57 kPa against 0.99) and airflow (15 against 17 CFM) below average and noticed fine debris scattered slightly on hard floors, although the carpet result shows the brush makes up for it where it counts.
How it compares
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete matches the pet-hair and wrap results, avoided one more object, retracts to 3.13 in and is rated for 45 mm thresholds, and its dock carries a second detergent tank for a pet-odor formula. It sits a class up in price, and the L60 PE out-cleaned it on carpet (94 against 89 percent).
The eufy Omni E25 is TechGearLab's pick for heavily shedding pets, uses a roller mop that is rinsed as it works and has a larger 300 mL bin, but it scored lower on carpet at Vacuum Wars (88 percent) and is about 4.3 in tall. The Roborock Q10 S5+ matches the carpet result in a much lower price class, with weak obstacle avoidance and no mop washing.
Verdict
Buy the L60 Ultra PE if pet hair on carpet is the main job and your thresholds are low: its carpet, hair and tangle numbers are the best combination we found, and the dock handles the rest for months at a time. Skip it if you mop dried kitchen spills, have steps between rooms, or keep several long-haired pets and would rather have a larger onboard bin.
