Tineco · Wet dry vacuum
Tineco Floor One Stretch S6
The Stretch S6 is the wet-dry vacuum most hard-floor homes should buy: it ranks second in the largest independent lab table, reaches under low furniture and dries its roller after every run. Skip it only if you want steam or a tank that lasts a big house.

What stands out
- Second of 46 hard-floor cleaners in Vacuum Wars' continuously updated ranking (September 25, 2026), which also names it the best value
- Folds to 180 degrees and 5.1 in tall, with a three-chamber dirty-water system that keeps suction when flat, according to Tineco
- FlashDry dock cycle washes the roller and tubes with 158°F water, then dries them for about five minutes
- Brush reaches about 0.2 in from the wall on both sides of the head, per Tineco
- Measured at 4,364 g by Vacuum Wars, lighter than the lab's category average
Flaws to know
- Homes & Gardens found egg shell and dry cereal pieces needed several passes because the head's opening is narrow
- Up to 40 minutes per charge and a 0.8 L tank mean refills in a large house
- No steam mode on this version; Tineco sells a separate S6 Stretch Steam
- Homes & Gardens found the clean-water tank awkward to fill

Who it's for
The Floor One Stretch S6 is for a home where most of the floor is hard, most of the mess is everyday (crumbs, paw prints, dried drips by the sink) and a fair amount of it hides under the sofa, the bed or the kitchen toe-kick. It vacuums and washes in one pass: a soft roller is sprayed with clean water, a scraper strips the dirty water back off, and suction carries it to a separate tank.
What makes it our top pick on the best wet-dry vacuum mops is where it sits in independent data. Vacuum Wars has bought and lab-tested 46 hard-floor cleaners, and as of September 25, 2026 the Stretch S6 is second in that table and carries the lab's Best Value label. Only Tineco's steam flagship ranks above it.
It suits people who clean a few times a week, have a spot near an outlet for the dock, and are happy to rinse a dirty-water tank at the end of each session.
What stands out
The headline feature is in the name. The Stretch S6 folds all the way to 180 degrees and, by Tineco's figure, the body is only 5.1 inches tall when it lies flat. Earlier floor washers could not do this because tilting them far enough let dirty water run toward the motor. Tineco's answer is a three-chamber separation system that splits solids, liquid and air, and the company states suction holds up while the machine is flat. Homes & Gardens confirmed it reaches under furniture and noted a voice prompt that warns you as you tilt it down.
The second is the dock cycle. Tineco calls it FlashDry: about two minutes of 158°F water through the roller and tubes, then roughly five minutes of drying at the same temperature, with the brush turning both ways. Vacuum Wars treats hot-air roller drying as one of the most useful hygiene features in the category, because a roller left damp in its tray is what makes a floor washer smell. Our budget pick leaves it out.
The Auto mode uses Tineco's iLoop sensor to raise suction and water when the floor is dirty and ease off when it is clean. A ring around the display shifts from red to blue as an area gets clean, which Homes & Gardens found a clear signal of when to move on. In its kitchen tests, ketchup, mustard and pasta sauce were gone after one pass forward and one back, and the thin film of moisture left behind dried in under five minutes.
Edge cleaning is on both sides of the head, and Tineco puts the brush about 0.2 inches from the wall. Vacuum Wars measured the machine at 4,364 g, below the 4,609 g average across the floor washers it has weighed.
Where it falls short
Bulky debris is the weak spot. Homes & Gardens needed several passes to collect egg shell, and dry cereal pieces were pushed ahead of the head until it lifted and dropped the machine onto them. The narrow intake suits fine grit and liquids better than large crumbs, so sweep up the big pieces first after a spill like that.
Capacity is middle of the road. Tineco rates the battery at up to 40 minutes, and the clean tank holds 0.8 L. Vacuum Wars puts the category averages at about 37 minutes and 1 L, so the Stretch S6 is typical on run time and a little small on water. A large single-story home may need a refill partway.
There is no steam. Tineco sells a separate S6 Stretch Steam, and our premium pick has steam built in. Homes & Gardens also found the clean tank awkward to fill.
How it compares
Against the Tineco Floor One i5 Stretch, our budget pick, the Stretch S6 adds heated drying, the iLoop dirt sensor, powered assist wheels and ten more minutes of rated run time. The i5 is lighter and posted strong numbers of its own in Vacuum Wars' stain test, so if you will pop the roller out to dry by hand, it covers the basics in a lower price class.
Against the Dreame Aero Pro, the S6 has the higher lab ranking and powered wheels; the Dreame has a larger 1 L tank, up to 60 minutes of run time, a slimmer 3.88-inch profile and a roller that cuts hair. Homes with long-haired pets should lean toward the Dreame.
Against the Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam, the S6 gives up steam, 35 minutes of run time and three-sided edge cleaning, and it is about 4 lb lighter.
Verdict
The Stretch S6 gets the fundamentals right: independent lab results near the top of the field, real under-furniture reach, a dock that dries the roller and a weight most people can carry upstairs. Its limits are big debris and a mid-size tank. Buy the i5 Stretch to spend less, the Aero Pro for long hair and big rooms, and the S9 Artist Steam for steam. For most hard-floor homes, this is the one.
