Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam
The S9 Artist Steam is the most complete cordless floor washer you can buy: first in Vacuum Wars' ranking, with steam, a 75-minute battery and every hygiene feature that matters. Its weight and its price class are the only reasons to look elsewhere.

Who it's for
The Floor One S9 Artist Steam is for a household that wants one cordless machine to vacuum, wash and steam its hard floors, and is willing to pay flagship money and push a heavy head to get it. It works like any floor washer, spraying a soft roller with clean water and scraping the dirty water into a second tank, but adds a steam mode for grease and dried-on messes.
It is the premium pick on our list of the best wet-dry vacuum mops because it sits first in Vacuum Wars' table of 46 lab-tested hard-floor cleaners as of September 25, 2026, and because it is the only pick with steam. It suits larger homes on one level, kitchens that see cooking splatter, and pet owners who want to clean without relying on detergent alone.
What stands out
The cleaning numbers lead the field. On Vacuum Wars' dried-coffee stain test the S9 scored 151 points against a 140 average, and it left only 0.4 g of water on the floor against a 1.0 g average. The lab combines the two into a single mopping score so a machine cannot win by flooding the floor, and the S9 tied for first place among everything it has tested.
The battery is the second advantage. Vacuum Wars ran it for 75 minutes, tying Tineco's own S9 Artist Pro for the longest result it has recorded and roughly double the 35-minute average. Tineco's 75-minute figure applies to Auto mode with the machine lying flat, so treat it as a best case; Popular Science finished its 1,100 sq ft home with about a fifth of the charge left.
Steam is what the name promises. Tineco's HyperSteam heats water to 320°F at the heater and, by the company's figure, keeps the outlet at 210°F or more. Popular Science steamed a whole linoleum kitchen and saw a clear difference, and noted the water needs about a minute to heat before steam mode is available.
The rest of the feature list is complete. Self-propelled drive moves the head forward and back. The head cleans along both sides and the front, which Vacuum Wars calls rare. It lies flat to reach under furniture. The iLoop sensor adjusts suction and roller speed and shows the dirt level on an LCD screen. After each session the dock washes the roller and tubes, then dries them with 185°F air for five minutes. Two scrapers keep hair off the roller, and Popular Science reported no tangles from its dog over several weeks. It also found the machine unusually quiet, even in Max.
Where it falls short
Weight. Vacuum Wars measured 6,148 g, about 13.5 lb, the second-heaviest floor washer it compared and well above the 4,609 g average; the heaviest models are the steam ones. Self-propulsion hides most of that on the floor, but BGR found it a burden to lift on and off the dock, especially with full tanks, and flagged it for older users. Carrying it upstairs is a real task.
Steam costs battery. Tineco rates Steam mode at 30 minutes, less than half the Auto figure, and Popular Science nearly emptied the battery with heavy steam use. Plan on steam for the kitchen and entry, not every room.
The 0.88 L clean tank is a little below the lab's 1 L average. The self-propel also sets your walking pace, which Vacuum Wars notes will not suit everyone. Popular Science found the filter latch in the dirty tank felt flimsy, though it caused no problem in several weeks. Use steam only on sealed floors that can take heat and moisture.
How it compares
Against the Tineco Floor One Stretch S6, our top pick, the S9 adds steam, 35 more minutes of rated run time, three-sided edges and full self-propulsion, and it is about 4 lb heavier. The S6 ranks second in the same table in a far lower price class.
Against the Dreame Aero Pro, the S9 wins clearly on stains (151 to 112) and adds steam and self-propel; the Dreame is about 3 lb lighter, has a larger tank and cuts hair off its roller.
If you want wet cleaning in a stick vacuum rather than a dedicated floor washer, the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine has a wet roller with a small 300 ml tank, better suited to quick kitchen touch-ups than to washing a whole floor.
Verdict
The S9 Artist Steam earns its first-place ranking with the best combined mopping score in the lab's database, the longest measured battery life and the most complete hygiene package. Its faults are physical: weight, and a steam mode that drains the battery. If you can live with carrying 13.5 lb, nothing else in the category does more.
