What stands out
- Fastest preheat in TechGearLab's test of 11 toaster ovens (1.6 minutes to 350°F) and a 2.5-minute medium toast
- Tied for the top toasting score, 8.3 out of 10, in the same test
- Small: 13 x 12 x 10.2 in and 7.5 lb, per Panasonic, so it fits where a full-size oven will not
- Six one-touch presets, a 25-minute timer with automatic shutoff and a PFAS-free interior (Panasonic)
Flaws to know
- Ran about 24°F cool on average at a 350°F setting in TechGearLab's test
- No fan: it cannot air fry or convection bake, and TechGearLab scored its baking and roasting lowest of our picks
- Interior is only 4.1 in tall on a 9-inch tray, enough for four slices or a personal pizza
- TechGearLab found the controls confusing, and a similar-looking stainless model (NB-G200) was recalled in 2026

Who it's for
The FlashXpress NB-G110P is a small toaster oven that heats with infrared elements instead of a fan. It is the small-kitchen pick on our countertop oven list because it does the two things most people use a toaster oven for, toast and reheating, faster than the big air fryer ovens, on a fraction of the counter.
It suits singles and couples, dorm-sized and galley kitchens, and anyone who wants toast, bagels, English muffins, frozen waffles, a personal pizza or last night's leftovers without waiting for a preheat.
Skip it if you want to air fry, roast a chicken or bake cookies by the tray. It has no fan, and its cavity is only about 4 inches tall. For those jobs, the Cuisinart TOA-70 is the closest step up.
What stands out
Speed. Panasonic's pitch is that the double infrared elements heat instantly, so there is no preheat step. TechGearLab's lab numbers back it up: the FlashXpress reached 350°F in 1.6 minutes, the fastest of the 11 toaster ovens it tested, and made medium toast in 2.5 minutes. The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro needed 5.4 minutes to preheat and 4.8 minutes to toast in the same test.
Toast quality. TechGearLab scored its toasting 8.3 out of 10, tied for the best result of any oven in its group and ahead of the Breville's 6.8. For a household that mostly wants toast, that is the number that matters.
Footprint. Panasonic lists it at 13 inches wide, 12 deep and 10.2 tall, at 7.5 pounds. That is about 8 inches narrower than the Breville, and light enough to move to a cupboard. The interior measures 10.2 by 9.8 inches, with a 9-inch square tray that holds four slices of bread or a personal pizza.
Simple presets. Six one-touch programs, which TechGearLab lists as toast, waffle, roll, pizza, reheat and hash brown, set the time for you, and TechGearLab counted five toast shade settings. There is also a manual temperature from 250 to 500°F and a digital timer up to 25 minutes, and the oven shuts itself off at the end. Panasonic says the interior is PFAS free.
Where it falls short
Temperature accuracy. In TechGearLab's 30-minute test at 350°F, it averaged about 24.4°F below the setting, and TechGearLab noted more temperature variation during long cooks. For anything beyond toast and reheating, set it higher than the recipe or check it with an oven thermometer.
No convection, no air fry. Without a fan, it cannot crisp food the way air fryer ovens do. TechGearLab scored its baking and roasting 6.5 out of 10, the lowest of our four picks, and rated its frozen pizza below the Breville's and the Cuisinart's.
Capacity. The 4.1-inch interior height and 9-inch tray limit it to small portions. TechGearLab listed 9 inches as the largest pizza it takes. It will not hold a 9 x 13 inch pan or a whole chicken.
Controls. TechGearLab found the controls confusing and scored it 6.0 for ease of use, the lowest of our picks.
A recall to know about. In July 2026, Panasonic, the CPSC and Health Canada recalled the NB-G200 FlashXpress, a stainless-steel version sold on amazon.com and elsewhere from October 2024 through April 2026, because the power cord's insulation may be inadequate, posing shock and fire hazards. The recall does not cover the NB-G110P we recommend, but the two look alike. Check that the model number on the back label, or in the listing, reads NB-G110P, NB-G110P-K or NB-G110PW.
How it compares
Against the Cuisinart TOA-70, the Cuisinart toasts about as well in TechGearLab's scores, adds air frying, convection and a six-slice capacity, but takes a much larger footprint and ran about 22°F hot. Against the Breville, the FlashXpress is faster and far smaller but does a fraction of the jobs. If you want crisp food on a small counter, a compact basket model from our air fryer list pairs well with it.
Verdict
The FlashXpress is the toaster oven for small kitchens and small households: quick to heat, good at toast and easy to fit anywhere. It is not a second oven, and its temperature runs cool. More options are in the kitchen category.
